The 2007 MSRID Conference "Professional Ethics for Today and Tomorrow" took place Friday and Saturday, October 26 and 27, at St. Martin Junior High School in Ocean Springs, MS.  Conference presenters included Linda Stauffer and Amy Hebert of PEPNet - South and Alan "Abababa" Abarbanell.  Friday night, Abababa treated attendees to a performance based on his experiences growing up in deaf culture.  Saturday featured workshops "What Prisms Can Teach Us about Ethics" by Stauffer and Hebert and "Interpreting's Most Outrageous Moments: An Ethical Study" by Abarbanell.

Conference chairperson Jill Hagler and her crew from the Gulf Coast local chapter did an excellent job of staging and executing the conference.   Conference interpreters Paula Browning and Margo Buission performed with their usual grace and professional aplomb.  In addition to his support of MSRID and the Deaf community, Greg Crapo, director of de l'Epee Deaf Center, served as audio technician.
